A clean room transfer hatch on a 911 was a fun idea back in 2014, but the car didn’t sell as well as it should have.
Now, with Porsche announcing that the hatch will be making an appearance in the Porsche 997 Spyder, it’s looking like the concept is getting a chance to make a comeback.
According to an article on Autoblog, Porsche is now planning to make an appearance at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which takes place next month.
While there hasn’t been much information about the hatch, the article mentions that it will feature a removable roof, and that it has a built-in storage compartment.
There’s also a hood scoop that’s also removable, and it’s said to be able to fit a pair of headphones.
The Porsche 990 Spyder will be available in the US and in other markets in late 2020.
